I just got an email from the casting assistant for Food Network Star.
THE FOOD NETWORK.
I GOT AN EMAIL FROM SOMEBODY AT THE FOOD NETWORK.
THEY KNOW I EXIST.
Actually, I'm sure they googled "Baltimore" and "food blogger" and somehow found me. I don't care how it happened. I'm doing a happy freak out dance.
BTW - if you're from the Food Network and you're reading this...I'm cool as a cucumber because, like, I'm a professional, you know?
Here's the scoop: Food Network is doing an open casting call for the next season of Food Network Star in DC on Monday.
Monday, August 8th, 2011
1400 M St. NW
Washington, DC 20005
They're looking for people who are full of life, passionate about cooking, and knowledgeable about food. Think about your friends...do you know who is a chef, home cook, caterer or culinary enthusiast who might be interested in becoming the host of his or her own cooking show on Food Network? If you do, CALL THEM UP.
Opportunities like this just don't happen.
You get your friends down to that audition, STAT!
Oh, and make sure they download an application and bring it - completed - along with two recent photos. Better yet, forward them my blog page and make sure the follow this link that has all the details, K?
OK, my job is done.
If you make it, I want a recipe named after me.
That's all I ask.
